Abstract Submission

Call for Abstract  

Abstracts for oral/ poster presentations relating to any of the following symposium sub-themes are invited:

  1. Knowledge synthesis
  2. Knowledge translation and communication of evidence
  3. Evidence-informed health care
  4. Evidence-based health policy and leadership in health care
  5. Review methodologies and advanced research methodologies
  6. Contemporary issues and challenges in achieving collaboration in best practice

 

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • All abstracts should be submitted using the online submission form available at the symposium website.
  • All abstracts should be submitted in English.
  • Authors should indicate their preferred type of presentation (either oral or poster).
  • Authors should indicate the most appropriate single sub-theme for their abstracts.
  • The abstract title should clearly describe the content of the abstract.
  • The abstract should be  in Microsoft Office Word format using 12-point regular Times New Roman font with single line spacing.
  • Each abstract should be limited to 300 words, covering the following sections:
    • Background
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
  • The use of tables, graphs or images is not allowed in the abstract.
  • The names of the presenting author and co-authors and their affiliated institutions/ organisations should be listed in the abstract.
  • Once the abstract is submitted, changes, corrections or rewording will not be allowed.
  • Individuals may submit a maximum of two abstracts as the first author, but there is no limit on co-authorship.

 

 Criteria for Abstract Selection

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Subcommittee of the symposium. The abstracts must be original work and contain original material. If an abstract is for reporting a research study/ project, whether the study/ project is in progress or completed must be clearly stated in the abstract. Each abstract will be reviewed based on its originality, relevance, scientific rigor and clarity.

Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged through email. The submitting authors will be notified of the decision of the Scientific Subcommittee within two weeks. The Scientific Subcommittee’s decision about abstract acceptance and type of presentation is final. The presenting author of the selected abstract will be required to register for the symposium.

 

Best Presentation Awards

There will be four categories of awards:

  • Best student oral presentation awards
  • Best student poster presentation awards
  • Best oral presentation awards
  • Best poster presentation awards

Five highest rated abstracts in each category will be shortlisted to compete for the awards.
